BOKARA GARDEN INSTITUTE

Bokara Institute, located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is dedicated to creating a responsible ecosystem by ethically sourcing natural botanicals from the country's diverse biodiversity. We work in collaboration with local communities to establish infrastructure for research, extraction, and processing of botanical raw materials specifically for the cosmetic industry.

Our primary aim is to empower local communities by sharing knowledge and expertise, offering traceable raw materials instead of engaging in wholesale purchases. By doing so, we enhance the value created locally and provide an alternative to multinational companies that exploit Congolese natural resources.

Through our efforts, we seek to improve the quality of life for local residents by promoting sustainability and developing alternative sources of income. Additionally, our project aims to combat deforestation. As an example, the province of Equateur, which covers approximately 103,902,000 hectares, contains around 87,156,000 hectares (or 83.8%) of forested areas.
